I’m just another dude living in Los Angeles who loves and blows an irresponsible amount of my paycheck on food.
Initially I started posting photos and writing blurbs about my various restaurant experiences on my personal Facebook page and was consequently urged to start a food blog by close friends and family. This blog is the result of that constant urging.
Growing up in the Philippines and having traveled around Asia and the United States, my food experiences have been wide-ranging. I don’t have a preference for haute cuisine– just for f*cking delicious food (hence my blog’s name). Favorite restaurants include: Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Eleven Madison Park in New York, Manresa, Saison, and Urasawa in California, and Alinea in Chicago. At any time of the day, I’m always down for raw oysters, bucatini all’amatriciana, and the perfect espresso.
With food I value soul over precision, which probably explains my love for Korean, Italian, and Southern cuisine. Traveling and eating are two of my favorite activities, and it’s incredible how much one can learn so much about a country’s culture through its food.
More than anything though, I love how food has the ability to connect people from all cultures– even if they don’t share the same interests, language, or socio-economic status. Over a meal, strangers become friends– all through satisfying a common desire.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the ride!
